Ongoing

What was the problem?

Few chances for youth peace organisations to learn from each other, and young people with fewer opportunities left out.

What did we do?

Two cross-continental youth exchanges and youth participation activities in six countries.

What changed?

The first exchange brought 24 young peacebuilders together in July 2026.

What shows it?

News from the exchanges so far; results will follow as the project progresses.

Project overview

About the project

This project establishes a learning partnership of youth peacebuilding organisations across six countries to strengthen advocacy and policy dialogue capacities, promote youth participation in peace and security spaces, and advance the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) agenda in line with the EU Action Plan. Through two cross – continental youth exchanges and national level youth participation activities, the project supports young people to act as advocates, co-leaders, and visible agents of peace.

Project facts

The challenge

The problem we set out to address

Youth organisations play a crucial role in strengthening civic competencies and enabling meaningful youth participation, yet they often face challenges in sustaining inclusive engagement, particularly for young people with fewer opportunities. Opportunities for exchange among youth organisations remain limited.

Our response

What we did about it

The project aims to establish a cross-continental learning partnership among youth-led and youth-focused organisations in Europe and East Africa to exchange experiences and good practices in advancing the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) agenda. It seeks to strengthen the advocacy and policy dialogue capacities of young leaders and their organisations, enabling them to influence YPS-related policies, while promoting meaningful youth participation in peace and security spaces through structured dialogue with policymakers at local and national levels.

The project also aims to raise awareness of youth-led peacebuilding efforts and existing enabling frameworks, including the EU Youth Strategy, the EU Youth Action Plan in External Action, and the YPS agenda.
